The system performs discrete searches against Item Titles, Subtitles, and Textract extracts (content within the files). Results are displayed with Item Title matches first, followed by Subtitle and Textract search results ordered by frequency of the search term. Users can filter results by Item Type, publication date, and Carousel titles.

Mobile Search

Drive search functionality includes content from video subtitles, leveraging the platform's subtitle (and auto-generated subtitle) features.

While Item Titles remain the highest priority for search results, video subtitle content is now also searched. When a subtitle result is selected, Drive will display the video and automatically jump to the first occurrence of the search term within the subtitles.

Search capabilities include text extracted from PDF documents using the platform's Textract feature.

When a PDF is uploaded in the admin tool (and Textract is enabled), the extracts are synced to devices and made available for search. Item Titles are the highest priority matches, followed by Textract and Subtitle matches (ordered by frequency). A Textract match will display the Item Title and a snippet containing the first occurrence of the searched term. Clicking a Textract result opens the document and passes the search term into the document's native search function, taking the user to the first instance.

Web Search

Subtitle-based Search- The search functionality for Drive (web-only) now indexes all subtitle and transcript data for video and audio files.
