Global Search vs Local Searches

There are two types of search available in the Learner Tool: Global Search (In-depth article), and Local Search.

While the difference may not be immediately clear, Local Search works on a limited scope with per-System-Page results, whereas Global Search returns results from nearly every area of your site, from module contents, to media files, to user contributions. It also encompasses everything included in each variety of Local Search (Learn, Users, etc.).
