You can use AI to translate your module text and content items into any language enabled on your system. This works in both Learning Paths and Classic Modules. Managed by the Manage Modules and Manage New Builder Modules roles.
This feature requires the Multi-Language Tool.
Module Text Translations
From the module builder, click the Globe icon to open the AI translations tool. Pick your target language, click Generate Translations, and accept the AI Terms of Use. The system translates all admin-created text: module title, description, section summaries, landing page fields, and section titles, descriptions, and overviews. It also translates content items including Tests, Homework, Observation Checklists, Links, Flashcards, Embedded Media, Events, and Text Blocks.
Translations land in a Draft stage so you can review everything before it goes live. Translated text is not visible to Users until you publish at the module level.
Content that is NOT translated: Videos, Video Subtitles (handled separately; see below), Documents, Images, Other Modules, eLearning Media, and Wistia Videos.
If you add new translatable content to a module that's already been translated, a New Content banner flags it so your translations stay complete across every enabled language.
Classic Module Support
AI translations work the same way in Classic Modules as in Learning Paths. In Classic modules, the Generate Translations button appears when viewing the English Viewing Version. Select a target language from the Viewing Version dropdown to enable it.
Once translations are complete at the module level, content-level translations are also published automatically.
Video Subtitle Translations
For video content with subtitle files, you can generate translated subtitle files for every language enabled on your system. After you've uploaded subtitle files or used AI-Generated Subtitles on a video, a subtitle entry appears for each of your enabled languages.
To generate a translation for a specific language, click Translate next to it. To translate all enabled languages at once, use the Translate all languages button at the top of the list.
Once a translation is ready, click Activate to make that subtitle track live on the video. To remove a language's subtitle track, click Deactivate. Each translated file can also be exported for manual editing or deleted entirely.
To preview subtitles, activate the file and then click the video preview. Under Captions, all active language tracks are available for selection.
Custom Terminology
Terms added to the Custom Terminology index are respected during AI translation. The system applies your preferred translations for those terms consistently across all content.
