Wisetail Drive now works with MDM solutions to bypass client affiliation (clientID entry) and even pre-approve devices in Wisetail. While our currently approved MDM provider list is limited to Airwatch, many of these providers work similarly, and we’re eager to engage with more clients and their preferred MDM provider to ensure theirs is tested and added to “the list”.
Generate an MDM Key
For the Wisetail Drive app to recognize a managed device and associate it with the appropriate client ID, an MDM key is needed. To generate an MDM key, a super admin must:
- Navigate to the Wisetail Admin tool > System > MDM Providers
- Click the ‘New Provider’ button
- Click the Copy button next to the MDM Key on the MDM Provider Details screen

Auto Device Registration (ADR)
Auto Device Registration (ADR) can automatically register your organization’s devices if you currently use a Mobile Device Manager (MDM). Wisetail Drive mobile applications work with an MDM standard called AppConfig that is compatible with most major MDMs. For additional information on AppConfig and which MDM vendors participate, please visit https://www.appconfig.org/
Important Notes
Auto Device Registration is not possible without deploying the app through an MDM. Please see the below tables for information on the keys necessary to register devices with the Wisetail platform. Once the AppConfig profile has been pushed to your devices along with the Wisetail Drive App, you should see a screen prompting for a deviceID. If your organization has ADC (Auto Device Configuration) enabled, your device will also have registered that deviceID and you will now be at a login screen for the app.

Notes
If you see a screen asking for Company Name and credentials after the app is installed and opened, the AppConfig did NOT apply correctly. Check your keys and values.
