See: Search, Permissions, & Media.
The Media Pill displays the title, the date added, and the approval status. Using the sidebar, you can filter the list by type, status, and date range.
Add
Use the Add Media button to choose files to upload. Use the + Add more button to upload more than one file at a time. You can also crop an image using the pencil edit icon.
Delete
This removes the media item completely from the LMS, including all modules housing the media item. There is no undo functionality.
Approve/Disapprove
This is how you can approve/disapprove user contributed content.
Marked as Pending
If set to required (Admin Tool → System → Settings), this is the default status for all uploaded Media items that need to approval before they can be used, including uploaded User Contributions.
Media Size Limits
Videos & eLearning media are limited to 500 MB per file.
If needed, you can submit a ticket to Technical Support, at which point we can increase the limit to a maximum of 2GB per file.
However, this increased size limit only applies to content for modules (not to Dialog Boards, such as Now@ Boards, etc.)
AI Usage Information
For media items used as source documents for AI Content Generation, two informational panels help you trace what was created and where it came from.
On a source document where you've used Generate Content, a Generated Content panel lists links to every piece of content created from that document.
On a media item that was generated from a source document, an AI-Generated From panel shows a link back to the document used to create it.
Streaming Only
For media items used in Wisetail Drive, you can mark individual items as Streaming Only. When selected, this setting prevents the media item from being automatically downloaded to devices.
The thumbnail and metadata will still be synced to the device, allowing the media item listing to be shown in the appropriate carousels and folders and for the media item to be surfaced in search. However, access to and viewing of the media item will require an internet connection.
Streaming-only media is excluded from smart caching mechanisms. On BYOD devices or devices running low on space, Drive typically prioritizes recently viewed media items for offline caching. Streaming-only media will always require an internet connection to view.
To enable, select the Streaming Only checkbox from the carousel item dropdown menu for the desired media item.
Managing Media from a Module
In the Admin tool, when you click on a media item in a Module Details view, a Manage Media option is available.
Selecting Manage Media takes you directly to that piece of media within the Content tab of the Admin tool.
