The Schedule Module Activation feature gives Admins the power to ‘set and forget’ the activation and inactivation dates for any module they create, Standard or Reference. Admins now have the ability to:

  • Set Activation Date: Admins can select a future date of activation for a module.
  • Set Inactivation Date: Should Admins choose to do so, they can select a future date for inactivating a module.

Additionally, a  Scheduled filter option exists so that Admins can easily see which of their modules have a future Activation Date.

The Schedule Module Activation feature is seen in several areas of the LMS. First, when creating a module (Admin Tool → Modules → Modules → Create Module), the Schedule Activation panel appears on the right, underneath the Module thumbnail.

Second, filter exists in the Modules manager. Select the Scheduled checkbox to see only modules with a schedule:

If an Admin want to active a Module immediately, they can either:

  1. Click the Activate Now button.
    • When clicked, the Admin will be given a prompt to confirm the activation.
    • The Preview Module and Delete actions have been moved to the drop down menu next to the Activate Now button
  2. Set Activation Date to current date. By selecting the current date in the Schedule Activation panel, the module will be activated immediately.

To set a future activation date on a module, use the Schedule Activation panel:

The panel provides two input fields:

  • Activation Date: used to select a future date of activation for a module.
    • Modules are then activated at 12:01am of the date selected.
    • Timezone is determined by your Scheduled Email Timezone setting.
  • Inactivation Date: an optional future inactivation date for the module.
    • If used, the module will inactivate at 11:59pm of the date selected.
    • Timezone is determined by your Scheduled Email Timezone setting.

Module Status

On the main Modules page the Scheduled status flag indicates that the Module is scheduled to activate on a future date. Once it has been activated, the status of the Module will change to “Active”. There is also a Scheduled status filter option:

The “i” icon displays an information panel with the Module’s scheduled activation date and, if applicable, its scheduled inactivation date.
