NOTE: The Learning Progress Report is currently in BETA and subject to change. Outputs may change as we improve accuracy and functionality. This report is provided for evaluation purposes only and should not be used as a source of record or for decision-making.
The Learning Progress Report offers insight into how far along Users are on their learning journey.
Start by selecting the Learning Content (Module or Learning Path) you want insight into. You can select multiple Modules/Learning Paths from the modal.
Modules created with the Learning Path builder display a label corresponding to the Module Label applied from the Settings Panel.
Select a date range for the report. The date used in this filter is the User Completion Date.
Once selections are made, click Run Report to pull the report.
Filters
The following filters are available to refine report data:
- Report On: Users with Access: When checked, limits report data to Users that currently have access to the selected modules.
- User Status (Active/Inactive): Filter report data by user status.
- Audience Filters: Filter by user audience criteria.
Report Views
After running the report, you have three views of your data:
By User
Progress is calculated using all Required Content as the baseline. Individual Section Progress is calculated using the number of Required Contents in the Section, whereas overall Learning Path/Module Progress is calculated with the total number of required content pieces in the entire Learning Content.
For each user, an Overall Progress value is calculated based on progress percentages at every level as the sum of completed media divided by the total required media at that level.
When a User is expanded, progress of each of the selected Learning Content is displayed.
Drilling in deeper reveals individual pieces of required content used to calculate progress, and if applicable, the Completion Date for a piece of content.
Data for each Section of a Learning Path is 'flattened'; that is, in the event there are sub-sections in the section, any required content inside the sub-section is rolled into required content of the Section.
For Classic Modules that contain a child module, progress of those child modules is displayed in the same manner as 'Sections'. In the event the child module has a further nested child module, the required content is 'flattened' into the first child module.
You can sort users by the Progress column by clicking on the header.
By Module
This view gives you insight into audience progress across selected modules, separated by each selected Module.
When each module row is collapsed, you can see the overall completion progress for each module. Expanding each row provides deeper views into more granular completion progress. Data is first broken down into Sections, and then as you expand further, you'll see data corresponding to specific pieces of Required Content.
Data Explorer
In the By Module view, completion progress percentages are clickable links that surface a Data Explorer modal. As you drill deeper, the completion percentages continue to be clickable.
The modal lists Users that have any progress on the module or media item. If applicable, the completion date is also included.
You can search the data explorer, or export the data into CSV.
Group By
The Group By view groups module progression by Profile Field Values. After selecting Group By from the Data View Options, select a Profile Field. The Profile Field selector defaults to empty. Once a Profile Field has been selected, the report UI presents overall progress data grouped by the values of the Profile Field, in a grid format.
Like the By Module view, expanding each row of data provides deeper insight into more granular completion progress.
Module UUID
You can add the Module UUID as a column in the report UI as well as the CSV export. In the By User view, use Manage Sub Columns. In the By Module view, use Manage Columns.
Filtration when selecting modules
Under Module Label, the following filter options are available:
- Classic Modules = Modules built using our Classic Builder
- Basic Modules = Modules built using our new Learning Path Builder that the Admin applied the Basic Module label to.
- Course = Modules built using our new Learning Path Builder that the Admin applied the Course label to.
- Learning Paths = Modules built using our new Learning Path Builder that the Admin applied the Learning Path label to.
- Sections = Sections created inside a module built using the new Learning Path Builder
Additional Features
