Required Corrective Actions
Required Corrective Actions, where utilized, must be entered by checklist users before they may submit the checklist.
When a user provides a negative response (No, Fail, or Unacceptable), a Corrective Action can be required. Required Corrective Actions are a prerequisite to submit an OnTrack Checklist. Admins can exclude the requirement on a question-by-question basis if needed.
For questions requiring Corrective Action, users are prompted to add one whenever they provide a negative response (No, Fail, or Unacceptable).
A photo can be required in order to complete a Corrective Action.
Pre-Configured Corrective Actions
Corrective action details can be defined during checklist setup so the action is already filled in when it is triggered, rather than being entered from scratch during fulfillment.
Setup runs through a guided multi-step flow where you define the action details and configuration, including due date behavior. A review step comes before saving, and a Reset to Default option is available.
- Pre-configured values populate automatically during fulfillment.
- Each corrective action card shows how many of its fields are pre-configured.
- Cards can be disabled or removed when they are not needed.
Defining these details up front keeps action data consistent across locations, which gives the OnTrack open and closed actions report more comparable data to report on.
Allow Action Edit
The Allow Action Edit setting controls whether team members and OnTrack managers can edit a corrective action after it has been created. The setting is unchecked by default.
- The Edit Action button respects checklist audience membership for team members.
- Permission handling is consistent for both team members and OnTrack managers.
Follow-up Tab
Each question entry in the checklist builder has a Follow-up tab, where you configure what happens when a user selects a given response.
- Corrective actions and subsections are configured by response group from this one tab.
- Follow-up items appear as cards showing which responses they are associated with.
- Revision history shows follow-up items as read-only context.
Read-Only Actions
Read-Only Actions are informational only and are not added to the Actions tab. They do not receive a Due Date or Status, and users cannot tag a user on a Read-Only Action. They are visibility-restricted to those with access to the checklist instance, Submitted Checklist Report, and downloadable PDF Report.
Read-Only Actions can be configured with an Allow Override setting. When enabled, the checklist user can disable the read-only attribute at the time of entry, allowing that individual Checklist Action or Corrective Action to follow the normal workflow.
Edit Action from Checklist Fulfillment Page
Active actions can be edited without leaving the checklist fulfillment page. An Edit Action button appears below each generated action card and opens an inline edit modal for the title, description, tags, and due date.
- Clicking the action card navigates to the full action details page. Only Edit Action opens the modal.
- The button appears for active (unresolved) actions, and not on the history review page.
- Tagged users and due dates populate in the modal when it is opened from the checklist details page.
Action Activity Log
Every OnTrack action has a chronological Activity Log accessible from the 3-dot menu on the action details page. It records structural changes like title edits, due date changes, user tag updates, priority toggles, and status transitions. See the Action Activity Log article for full details.
